Traveling for the holidays? Road trips can be educational, memorable, fun, and all at the same time exhausting. The most important part of your road trip, however, is making sure the portion of the food you're responsible for stays safe on the road. Below are some ways that you can keep your food contained and safe for you and everyone that will be enjoying its deliciousness once you arrive at your destination.
  • Be sure to keep your food hot if it's hot food and cold if it's cold food. Your best bet would be to keep food in coolers with ice and bring a portable heating unit if need be.
  • Any fresh produce needs to be rinsed before being packed away.
  • Thoroughly seal your food to reduce the chance of cross-contamination.
  • Consider freezing meats before beginning the road trip.
