The Lincoln MKC

   The Lincoln MKC is aimed right at the center of the luxury, compact SUV crossover market. While some of Lincoln's have been quirky and somewhat eccentric, the MKC is sophisticated but fits right into its class. It wows with a luxurious cabin and plenty of technology and performs with enthusiasim, all while being available at a few grand less than equivalent models from more established luxury brands. The Lincoln MKC may share a platform with the Ford Escape, but with its elegant sheetmetal and distinctive grille, few will mistake the MKC for its mainstream sibling. The MKC is longer, lower and wider, with standard features such as heated seats and xenon headlights. In design, the MKC makes a solid statement against the likes of the Audi Q5, Acura RDX , Cadillac SRX and even stands up well against the Mercedes-Benz GLA. "Graceful athleticism" is a design theme that Lincoln uses to describe the exterior and the MKC shows that from the side.

   While there's no V-6 engine as an option, the MKC actually does better than that, really. A new 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque, the MKC can cut its zero-to-60 mph time to around seven seconds. It incorporates a new twin-scroll turbocharger arrangement, so its power delivery is more immediate-about on par with the V-6 engines of a decade ago.  And thanks to extra noise insulation, a balance-shaft system and active noise concellation, it's all very quiet.

    Even at the base Pemiere level, the MKC includes power heated driver's and passenger's seats; keyless entry and push-button start; cruise control; active noise control; the programmable MyKey system; speed-sensitive intermittent wipers; remote start; HID headlamps; reverse sensors; heated mirrors; and a set of features that collectively put it a step ahead of most other luxury-badge models, in terms of standard features.  The 2016 Lincoln MKC is a luxury vehicle through and through and is an incredible player in the luxury, crossover SUV field.
